Once Upon a Brick · Chapter 1
The story of how Infinite Brick came to be: the people, ideas, and moments that shaped it. Each chapter reveals another piece of the journey connecting LEGO creativity with the community around it.
Welcome! This is where I'll be sharing the story behind Infinite Brick, one chapter at a time. This first entry begins before the beginning…
Who starts a blog in 2026 when everyone says “blogging is dead”?
The same guy who builds a marketplace for Lego accessories, that's who!
And here is where I'll be sharing the journey. You're in at the ground floor of something evolving – – and I hope you'll want to stick around.
Before we dive in: no matter if you are new to LEGO or have been creating for ages, I'm happy to “meet” you and glad you stopped by.
I'd like to make these blog posts as conversational as possible, so I can get to know each of you, as you get to know me. That sounds way more fun than writing words into the ether.
So who am I? And what's Infinite Brick?
Let's rewind to August 2025.
I hopped in my car and drove ~7 hours to Laval, Quebec, Canada for the 2025 Brickomanie Expo. This was my first time attending the convention – an experience that I intend to post more about it in the future.
At the end of the opening ceremonies, I was graciously given the mic by the organizers to talk about a little game I had thrown together (very last-minute) for the event.
After my spiel, someone with a slightly imposing demeanor approached me and asked point-blank “Who are you!?“
Simple question, yet in the moment, I wasn't sure which direction to take it. You see, in my attempt to avoid any sense of self-promotion (after all, I was there to talk about a little thing I created for Brickomanie) I neglected to say, well, anything about me!
So, to avoid that here on the blog: my name is Tyler and I am co-founder of Infinite Brick. (You can find a little more about the duo behind our projects on our About page).
But I'd like to rewind much further and share a little of what might have foreshadowed where we are today.
LEGO has been a fixture in my life for as long as I can remember. I got my first sets when I was four or five, and like many kids in the 90s, I never really put the bricks down.
What’s always fascinated me though, isn’t just the sets. It’s everything around them; the ways LEGO spills into everyday life. I still remember one of my earliest “beyond the brick” moments: a LEGO Mania T-shirt and Technic hat I received as birthday gifts in 1995. (Yes, I still have them!)

Those little things made the hobby feel bigger than just a toy… in some ways, it became part of my identity.
Fast forward to today, and that idea has grown into Infinite Brick – a community-driven marketplace dedicated to all the unique LEGO-inspired products beyond official sets: art, apparel, books, magazines, display stands, sorting tools, building tools and more.
This blog will be where I share:
- Fresh finds from the Infinite Brick marketplace
- Stories from vendors, creators, and fans
- Nostalgic looks back at LEGO through the years
- Updates as Infinite Brick itself evolves
But I don’t want this to just be me telling stories – I want to hear yours too.
👉 Quick question: When did your LEGO journey begin?
Your answer helps me get to know our growing community, and it helps shape what we feature here.
Share Your Story
And if you want to go deeper, I’d love to hear your story!
What brought you into LEGO? Was it a childhood set, a rediscovered passion as an adult, or something totally different?
You can share your story below – either by typing or recording your answer. I’ll be listening, and with your permission might even feature a few responses in future posts.

Until the Next Chapter…
Thank you for being part of this.
This Once Upon a Brick series is about more than my story; it’s about the threads that connect all of ours.
And my story doesn’t start with Infinite Brick.
It starts much earlier — with the LEGO worlds that pulled us in.
