A weekend of MOCs, costumes, and people like you
Picture a hall full of tables, each holding something somebody spent months building: a city skyline, a spaceship, a haunted house with tiny glowing windows. Builders are still nudging minifigures into place as the doors open. That's Bricksplosion, which bills itself as Atlantic Canada's #1 LEGO® fan event. This Halloween weekend, October 31 and November 1, it fills 10,000 square feet in Halifax with 600 linear feet of creations from brick artists across Canada.
If you've never been, this guide is for you.

From a curling club to 2,850 visitors
Bricksplosion started in 2023 at the Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax. CBC reported hundreds of visitors and more than 30 builders at that first show, and organizer Shawn McLeod said he was “blown away” by the response.
The show has sold out every year so far. In 2025, it went full Halloween at the Light House Arts Centre in downtown Halifax and welcomed 2,850 visitors, with LEGO Masters alumni Stephen Joo, Sam Malmberg and Maia Hughes among the guests.
New for 2026: Dal SUB
This year, Bricksplosion moves to the Dalhousie Student Union Building (Dal SUB) in Halifax. Dal students get a perk, too: 250 exclusive Bricksplosion minifigs, with 50 available in each ticket window. Bring your student ID to the Bricksplosion merch table.

What's on: Halloween builds, vendors and Make N Takes
The Halloween theme is back, so come in costume. Costumed visitors get treats. Beyond the builds, expect:
- About a dozen vendors selling kits, minifigs, parts and LEGO swag
- LEGO video games, hosted by The Deck Box Halifax
- 300 LEGO Make N Takes in every ticket window, thanks to LEGO Canada
- Family-friendly play zones
- A charity raffle

Tickets: five windows, two passes, one place to buy
Bricksplosion runs in fixed two-hour windows to manage capacity:
- Sat Oct 31, 9–11am: VIP, with first access to the vendors plus an event brick
- Sat Oct 31, 12–2pm and 3–5pm: general admission
- Sun Nov 1, 10am–12pm: general admission
- Sun Nov 1, 12:30–2:30pm: “Happy Hours,” at discounted admission
Want to come and go? The FAN pass covers every window. The SUPERFAN pass adds a 2026 Bricksplosion shirt, the event-exclusive kit and a goodie bag.
Two things to know: sold-out windows aren't available at the door, and windows do sell out. And tickets are sold only on Eventbrite. The organizer warns that social media is full of scammers reselling tickets they don't have.
The people behind the tables
Bricksplosion is organized by Shawn McLeod of HOLDFAST Bricks, in partnership with MariLUG, the Maritime LEGO Users Group. Shawn also designs buildable kits of Maritime landmarks, from the Halifax Old Town Clock to Pier 21 and the Bluenose. Many are sold as exclusives through local museum and attraction gift shops.
Our part is smaller: we built the game.
Play Pumpkin Potion, then grab your tickets
Pumpkin Potion is a free-to-play Halloween game we made for Bricksplosion. It runs in any web browser on your phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to download. Slice the pumpkins and potions, and dodge the dynamite. Three misses, or one hit on the dynamite, and your brew is done.
The top score on the leaderboard wins a LEGO® prize worth about $50 CAD. It's open to players across Canada, and you don't need to attend the show to win. The leaderboard closes Sunday, November 1 at 3:00pm Atlantic. (Official rules)
Got a score you’re proud of? Hit Share and challenge your friends. It’s an easy way to rally your crew for the show, and to settle who the best brewer is before you get there.

Then, if you can make it to Halifax, grab your tickets before your window sells out.
